Aliona & Jay Confirmed for Strictly Live Tour 2016

Aliona and Jay will be taking part in the 2016 Strictly Live Tour set to dazzle arenas around the country in January and February 2016

Jay says: “I’m used to performing in front of massive crowds when touring with The Wanted, but performing with Aliona on the Strictly Live Tour will be a totally different experience. I’m loving my time on the TV series, but the idea of being back out in front of live arena audiences is something I’m very much looking forward to.”

Week 11: Rumba

Aliona and Jay performed a beautiful rumba to Falling Slowly from the musical Once.

Craig: this character suited you naturally and that came across story wise, you presented Aliona so well it was absolutely wonderful, the control you had was brilliant, the hip action I couldn’t not complain about – 9

Darcey: you both brought tears to my eyes, that story you created, that intimacy, it was so real, they way you are able to emote, technically, you stroke the floor, the rotation, the continuity, the fluidity – it was fabulous – 10

Len: I tell you this, you won’t be dancing twice, thats in the semi final, I have been critical of rumbas, this is such a hard dance, especially for men, you got it right, it was fantastic – Jay, I’ve not been convinced totally by your dancing, tonight you have convinced me, you are a terrific dancer – 10

Bruno: that was a pitch perfect interpretation of a theme on both levels, as a performer and as a dancer, it was irrisistably romantic, touching, emotionally involving, you use your feet like hands, it caresses and envelopes you, you have done an amazing job with an extremely difficult dance – 10

TOTAL = 39/40

    Week 10: Tango

Aliona and Jay perform a sharp, sexy, sophisticated tango to ‘When The Doves Cry’ by Prince

Craig – you hear the music and that is what I adore about you, it was clean shape, staccato, I absolutely adored it – 9

Darcey – oh my, there was just something, you were working as one, superb, the delivery of the steps, the precision, the intensity was all there, that was my favourite dance – 10

Len – you were like a chess master, you plotted your way around that floor, every move carefully placed, that was a mango of a tango – 9

Bruno – its Jay, the macho on a mission, so strong, so compelling, so focused, it thrills me to see the way you dance – 10

    Week 7: Argentine Tango

Aliona and Jay perform an exquisite, passionate Argentine Tango to Diferente by The Gotan Project.

Craig: It was great but it was desperately lacking gauchos, it did leave me wanting more. 8
Darcey: you execute it to perfection, those lines … so crisp! I want to see this fire come out, this desire, its only missing that. 9
Len: It was a polished performance, sleek, it was slick. It had a nice intensity about it … the lifts were good but sometimes you need to see a little bit of emotion come out on your face 8
Bruno: the precision was incredible, I was transported to upper class Boenos Aires! 9

    Week 4: Quickstep

Aliona and Jay performed a fast, energetic quickstep to “My Generation” by The Who

Craig: Just too many mistakes, sadly 5
Darcey: It’s such a shame you messed up. But don’t worry about this, Aliona gave you a very challenging quickstep and I know you can come back next week. 6
Len: It’s a shame because these things happen. It’s a very fast dance, there’s a lot to think about, and your feet were doing more than your brain could handle. 7
Bruno: In theory, this should have been a barnstormer. In practice, there were quite a few buts. 7
